The 36th Istanbul Marathon which is the world’s only Intercontinental marathon organized since 1979  was held on 16 November 2014.

Close to 25 thousand athletes from 118 countries all over the world attended the race and 4 categories of the marathon; 42 km race, 15 km race , 10 km race and fun run were completed. Also up to 150,000 İstanbulites from all ages, occupations and neighbourhoods go for an 8-km public fun run. İstanbul Marathon, one of the world’s remarkable running tracks, started on Istanbul’s iconic Bosphorus Bridge for a unique experience in the world’s one and only intercontinental marathon, which ended at the Historical Peninsula.

Ethiopian Amane Gobena in the women’s category and Moroccan Hafid Chani in the men’s category have finished first in the İstanbul marathon.

Levent Erkan after running 34th and 35th İstanbul Marathons and being entitled as International Runner after finishing 42K in 2013 has participated and finished 15K category successfully.
